London Amateur Basketball League

Welcome to our new site!

Our Story

We are the London Amateur Basketball League.  Founded in 2006, we have now become one of the largest amateur leagues in the UK.  From a mere handful of players and referees back in 2006, we now not only run our own basketball league, development programme for officials, appointments service in London and keep growing.  The league is run by the league secretary who also attends the league financial affairs with the assistance of the treasurer.  We register players, coaches and officials with Basketball England.

Please contact us on amateurbasketball@yahoo.co.uk if you would like to find out about our competitions.

MEN'S SUMMER LEAGUE 2025

The Men's Summer Basketball League 2025 will take place at St Aloysius College (Hornsey Lane, N6 5LY) starting by the last weekend of June and finishing in mid-August.  Fixtures will take place on Sundays.  We will accept 8 teams split 2 pools of 4 teams. The teams will play each other once. Then they will play an extra game against a team from the other pool. The next round will be quarter-finals, semi-finals, then a final. Therefore minimum 4 fixtures, up to 6 fixtures if you team reaches the final.  The dates may change depending on the number of teams.

The fee is £565 per team to pay for booking fees, officials, trophies, etc. You can register by paying the whole fee or an initial deposit.  The league committee will give preference to new teams into the league that would like to join the men's division two or progress to the men’s division one.

All teams need to be registered with Basketball England unless the Membership process is closed and/or is the end of the official season. Teams need to submit the details of their players: full name, and date of birth a not subject to any disciplinary action.

If you are a player looking for a team, please contact us as we are helping new teams to get ready for this event and next season.

Contact us on amateurbasketball@yahoo.co.uk for more information and registration. Also visit the league website for fixtures details, league handbook and disciplinary handbook.  The first 8 teams that pay the fee will be registered.  Pulling out less than 21 days before the start of the competition means the team forfeits any payment made.

The winning team will receive a trophy and a £150 discount for season 2025-2026, if they are a new team into the league.
